It was a breezy afternoon in Spartanburg, and the golden light settling over the fields at the beautiful Milliken Arboretum was absolutely perfect! I knew it was going to be a fun afternoon when the first thing this little guy wanted to do upon arriving was to check out one of the ponds to look for fish and turtles and throw sticks to make a big splash!
I mean, really — sticks and rocks are made for splashing into ponds, right?! :)

Three years old is a very adventurous age, and oh, what great adventures we had during this fun birthday session full of giggling, running, and searching for the best sticks we could find! He also had the cutest hat, which made for some really fun and creative moments!
What’s even more exciting is that this sweet kiddo was only a few weeks away from becoming a big brother when we snapped these photos; I’ve since had the pleasure of photographing him in his new role, and oh… what a wonderful, sweet big brother he is!
One of my favorite parts of photo sessions with little ones is capturing those moments that really let their little personalities shine through. This one was no different — I can almost hear his giggles when looking at these photos, and he had some really fun ideas for posing, which I always love!
Stephen and Aimée — thanks for braving the wind with me and not being afraid to ham it up behind the camera to help get some of these fabulous giggles! I have loved watching your family grow over the years, and I’m so excited to watch your two sweet boys grow up together!
