There is always a certain type of magic that I feel when I walk into the home of a family who has just welcomed a new baby. The air holds a sense of the great shift that has taken place — the newness of life, a feeling of how the months and months of preparation and anticipation have finally yielded the greatest joy imaginable. As I stepped through Paige and Brian’s front door on a bright September morning, I immediately felt captivated by the warmth within their home. This was my first newborn session since finding out that we had our own sweet baby on the way, as I watched these proud new parents interacting with their baby girl — tending to her needs, holding her, talking to her sweetly — I felt my heart swell with emotion, imagining how those first weeks with our new baby will look for us in just a few short months!
It is always such an honor to be welcomed into a client’s home for a session, and Paige and Brian were the most gracious and accommodating hosts! They emanate warmth and kindness and are the kind of people you immediately feel comfortable with! Their beautiful home was such a perfect background for their lifestyle session with their daughter, from the elegant and thoughtful styling of each room to the perfect morning light streaming in through their windows! Their sweet baby girl had a rough entrance into the world, but even through the challenges of their first weeks as a family of three, you could still feel all the love and awe and joy as they gazed adoringly at her. And I just ADORED watching their sweet girl look toward her parents' voices — newborns will often sleep through the majority of their session, but this little lady did NOT want to miss a thing! She did such an amazing job through our whole session, and I truly could have stayed and photographed the three of them all day! :)
