Crisp, cool air blowing through rows of trees tinged with autumn leaves. The sweetest brothers, dressed to impress in their most adorable (and stylish!) duds. The sounds of laughter echoing between buildings as bubbles floated away in the breeze. This playful session in downtown Chapin was the absolute best way I could have imagined to kick off the busy fall photography season, from the blissfully cool weather that came after a week of record-breaking high temperatures to all the fun we had dancing, playing with planes and trains, running down sidewalks, and waving and smiling at everyone who passed by!
One of my greatest joys as a photographer is being invited to capture a family’s story year after year, particularly when I also get to document how much their children have grown and changed! And this family happens to be one of my favorites to document because it also means getting to capture precious memories of two of my sweet nephews! It’s hard to believe that this session with my sister and brother-in-law’s sweet family was just a year ago; I still can’t believe how much both of my sweet nephews have changed!
It was so much fun to plan for this session with my sister, Aimée! I always advise my clients that there’s no such thing as too dressed up for a session, and to plan for outfits that coordinate but aren’t too matchy-matchy. We worked together to plan both boys’ outfits down to the last detail — and I love what she put together, from the bow tie and sweater vest to the little details of their loafer shoes and matching brown belt! I mean, really… who doesn’t love a little lad all dressed up in his very best? :)
Aimée and Stephen, thank you for making the drive down with the boys so that we could capture these sweet photos! As always, you were both the best behind the scenes helpers — from chasing toddlers and trading out toys to holding reflectors and singing silly songs behind the camera.
