Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads out there! While I know this day can be a hard one for both dads and those who would be celebrating them, I love that there's a special day dedicated to honoring the special men in our lives and all that they do for us and our children!
When my husband and I got married seven years ago, I knew that we wanted children, and I knew that he would be an incredible father someday. But watching the man that I love more than anything become a father? Showing his unconditional love and devotion to the children we have created together? It is indescribable. It's a roller coaster of emotions, full of highs and lows, but oh, what a wonderful ride it is.
And this last year — I have seen that father's love come through more than I ever have. In our hardest season of losing our second baby, he has been such a source of strength for me as we have walked through this season of grief together. Through it all, he has continued to love our son and me fiercely, and I truly would have not made it through the last 10 1/2 months without all he has done to keep us moving forward.
Today, I'm thankful for all the dads in my life. For my best friend, my husband, the most amazing daddy to ALL of our babies. For my own dad, who has taught me many things over the years, who has loved me through my hardest seasons, who has modeled hard work as well as generosity in all he does. And for my father-in-law, whose quiet presence and love for our little family and willingness to always lend a hand I treasure beyond words.
