They sat snuggled together on the floor of the nursery, washed in the glow of the soft light that came through the window. The new mama gazed lovingly into her precious baby’s face and called her name in the sweetest sing-song voice as the sweet baby girl, dressed in a soft pink gown that was hers, slept soundly in her daddy’s arms. You could see all the love and thought that went into every detail of this cozy space, and the looks in their eyes told that nothing could compare to the joy of having their precious little one—the one they had dreamed of and prayed for—finally in their arms.
I first met Caitlin when I photographed her beautiful Peter Rabbit-themed baby shower in March for their surprise gender baby. I was so excited when she emailed me about scheduling a newborn session and that their baby GIRL had arrived safely! Caitlin and Sean are college sweethearts, just like my husband and I are, and their daughter’s birthday coincided with the ninth anniversary of their first date, which I think is just so special!
And can we just talk for a moment about how incredible this little one’s nursery is?! Caitlin wanted it to have a classic garden feel, which came through in every detail—from the accent wall with green and white nature-themed wallpaper, to the wood cane crib, to the gorgeous Beatrix Potter mobile. I also love that they included so many heirloom pieces in their session, like a monogrammed swaddle and sash and silver rattles that were Caitlin’s as a baby.
