It was a Saturday morning in the Lowcountry that felt more like June than late October. Overcast skies gave way to a bright, sunny morning, and golden sunlight filtered through trees dripping with Spanish moss. A sweet family of three strolled through Charleston’s beautiful Hampton Park — mom, dad, and baby girl — and I was absolutely captivated by the sweet, quiet way they interacted with one another. As we paused to capture some photos near a garden still vibrant with flowers, butterflies dipped and darted among the blooms, and I couldn’t help but think what a perfect morning it was to enjoy one of the last days of this year’s seemingly endless summer!
I love to have an excuse to visit Charleston and enjoy all its historic charm and beauty, so I was absolutely thrilled when Reem and Mohamad contacted me about scheduling a family session there this fall! I always encourage clients to choose a location meaningful to their family for their photos, and I loved that they chose beautiful Hampton Park because it is their favorite spot in Charleston and somewhere they visit often! Coincidentally, we had our family photos taken there last fall, and it was so much fun to be back there on the other side of the camera!
While the gorgeous location and the perfect weather were a dream, my favorite part of this session was the people. Reem and Mohamad are truly two of the most warm and kind people I have ever met. They are both so sweet and genuine, easy to talk to, and caring! Knowing that I was 7 months pregnant, they kept checking on me, letting me know that if I needed to take a break or sit down that it would be more than okay! It made me feel so wonderful, knowing that they were looking out for me and baby. And I loved getting to know their sweet baby girl, too! She was so expressive — I honestly can’t think of another session where I have so many photos of a baby so young looking directly at me and the camera! — and I just adored capturing photos of the love between her and her parents!

I loved the time that I spent with the three of you, and it was such a joy to witness the love you both have for your daughter.
